The Team 10 Drug-Free Coalition (Team 10) is focused on preventing youth from using alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Our mission is to foster a healthy, drug-free environment for adults and youth in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District Communities by promoting and supporting effective systems and programs. We want these great communities, where we live and work, to become even better places for youth and adults to reach their full potential.
The coalition is working towards this mission by:
- Building relationships with community members and leaders.
- Encouraging and promoting community participation and leadership with Team 10.
- Addressing how and where youth are getting alcohol, tobacco and other drugs from within the community.
- Strengtening the expression of the community norm against underage drinking and underage drinking parties.
- Helping people understand the risks involved with alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, especially among youth.
- Working with various agencies and police departments to provide and Unwanted Medication Disposal Program and Alcohol Compliance Checks.
- Providing support for local, safe, drug-free family and youth events such at SplashDown, an annual back to school event at Splash City Waterpark.
- Providing the school district with prevention resources and additional student drug testing kits.
