Kahoks Against Drugs and Alcohol (KADA) is an outstanding high school peer leadership club committed to Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) prevention in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District.
The students of KADA shine a revealing light on ATODs with various awareness activities and prevention efforts.
KADA's partnership is a key element of Team 10 Coalition's strength. Team 10 members recognize the wonderful benefits of having a peer influence club like KADA in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District. KADA provides Team 10 important feedback from a youth's perspective and is a perfect channel to reach students within the Collinsville Unit 10 School District.
KADA students are an example of youth making healthy choices and helping others to do the same.
Community leaders and organizations acknowledge KADA for their work in schools and communities. KADA has wonderful potential for making an impact in the Collinsville community.
KADA Acomplishments
- Established a club name and mission in 2008
- Elected club officers
- Attended the 2008 and 2009 Peer Influence Training provided by Chestnut Health Systems
- Completed Red Ribbon Week activities including creative PA announcements and theme days
- Attended the 2008 Madison County Youth Forum
- Attended the 2009 Madison County Youth Forum
- Completed Life Skills training provided by Chestnut Health Systems
- Implement Life Skills within the Collinsville Intermediate and Middle School
- Announced KADA and Jim Dedera (presenter), during substance use education assemblies
- Along with Team 10 Coalition, KADA hosted the Parent Education Night & Dinner with Jim Dedera as a guest speaker
- Assisted with the development and implementation of the "Are You Like Most?" tobacco campaign (printable pdfs below)
- Assisted with the development and implementation of the "Believe it. LIVE IT! 3 out of 5 CHS don't use alcohol." underage drinking campaign. (printable pdfs below)
KADA is a Collinsville High School Peer Influence Club.
